Brand Storytelling with Photos

brand photo for storytelling

Taking photos for Falmouth Living Magazine at Peterson’s Farm in Falmouth, MA.

Sharing your brand story with images is a wonderful way to capture the attention of your target audience.

They’re able to process the images quickly, and actually connect and feel a response to the photographs they’re viewing.

There are a few things to keep in mind when sharing brand photos for storytelling about your business.

First, decide on what type of emotional response you’d like the viewer (your ideal customer) to have when they see the photos. Do you want them to feel happy, inspired, empathetic…?

Second, be clear on the needs and desires of your ideal customer. This will influence the type of photos that you capture. What would help them to know, like and trust your brand enough to do business with you?

Third, make sure the photographs accurately reflect your own brand’s vibe. (your personality, purpose, mission, values…)

Lastly, you want the brand photographs to be in alignment with the message you share with your ideal customers.

Just like a story, have a beginning photo, middle and end photo.

Remember, as Seth Godin says: “Marketing is no longer about the stuff you make but about the stories you tell.” (and from me: those stories are better with photos!)
