The Knob, Falmouth

The Knob, Falmouth, MA

For my fellow nature lovers, sunset photographers and hikers, you need to check out this location!

The Knob is a narrow piece of land with rocky beaches that was gifted to the Salt Pond Bird Sanctuaries by Cornelia Carey.

It sits between Quissett Harbor and Buzzards Bay. (Quissett Harbor Rd., Falmouth, MA) It’s definitely worth planning a sunset trip here. If you’re a sunset chaser like myself, you’ll be very happy you came:)

If you’re wanting to catch a sunset, be sure to arrive EARLY, because there are only a few parking spots.

For easiest access to the tip of the Knob, you can now access it by taking the right hand path at the sign. It was widened to allow construction vehicles to pass through, when they were reinforcing the sides of the Knob with boulders to help protect it from erosion.

If you want to take the longer route, you can either walk along Quissett Harbor and then access the path, or bear left at the sign and take that path through the woods.

Some of the birds that’ve been spotted here are: the Goldeneye, Red-Breasted Merganser and the Osprey. For those into fishing, bass, bluefish and stripers can be caught here.

Your dog must be leashed if you want to bring them along.

The Knob is open to the public from dawn to dusk.

I hope you get the chance to check out this special spot!
